HORNELL, NY – Congressman Chris Gibson announced during the Lincoln Day Dinner on Friday night, that he is going to form an exploratory committee to look into running for governor of New York State.

Present for the annual Hornell Republican dinner were Congressman Tom Reed, State Senator Tom O’Mara, Assemblyman Bill Nojay, Assemblyman Phil Palmesano, and Father Sean DiMaria.

The Republican of the year award was posthumously given to Kevin Doran, the owner of this radio station, who died in October of last year. Assemblyman Bill Nojay spoke of Kevin Doran’s commitment to the 1st Amendment. Alfred University professor, Dr. Robert Heineman said that Doran was a good friend, whose commentary taught something to both Heineman and the community, and that Doran will be missed. Hornell GOP Leader John Buckley called Doran “a great family man, and a great community man.” The Republican of the Year award was accepted by Doran’s wife, Mary Margaret, her son Brendan, and nephew Andy Doran.
