21 Year Old Canisteo Male Accused of Slashing Tires

CANISTEO, NY – Canisteo Police Sgt. Kyle Amidon reports that Ryan O’ Brien, 21, of Canisteo, is accused of smashing a Canisteo survellience camera, allegedly after realizing he had been caught on camera, slashing car tires.
 
“During the later hours of January 5th, 2016 Police received reports that their tires were flat and a male was seen in the area”, Sgt. Amidon said. “Officers from the Canisteo Village Police Department, New York State Police, Steuben County Sheriff’s Department including a K9 unit were able to track the suspect for approximately a half mile from the incidents. During the morning of January 6th, 2016 Officers of the Canisteo Village Police Department and New York State Police were able to track down the suspect and place him into custody without incident. O’Brien was arraigned in Hornellsville Town Court and was remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $5000.00 Cash Bail/$10,000.00 Property. O’Brien will appear in Canisteo Village Court at a later date. Other charges on O’Brien are pending at this time. Sergeant In Charge K.C. Amidon of the Canisteo Village Police Department would like to give credit to all agencies and resources used in this investigation to make the arrest.”
