AFL-CIO Wants Education Reforms Removed From NYS Budget

March 5, 2015

ALBANY, NY – Time Warner Cable News reports that the AFL-CIO wants the education reforms taken out of this year’s state budget.

“When the governor says that he wants to be able to abrogate contracts in our schools, that’s not just contracts for our teachers,” Cilento said. “That’s contracts for our custodians; it’s for our lunchroom attendants; it’s for our librarians; it’s for our security guards; it’s for our electricians. We cannot and will not allow that.”
