Another Building Possibly Going Up Next to New Hospital/Medical Arts Building

May 14th, 2019

ARKPORT, NY – The new hospital could possibly be adding another building to their site. According to one board member, the hospital is looking to construct a maintenance building to store vehicles and equipment. Specifics on the size and actual location were unavailable at the meeting, as Planning Board head Joe Dick was not present.

Town Clerk Sharon Ames was happy to report that since the town implemented the dog census, dog licenses have been flying off the shelf. According to Ames, to date the town has sold 141 dog licenses, bringing in $1475. She added that there are still expenses that need to come out of that, but it still will be a nice profit for the town.

Board member Ron Kennell reported that the Town Justices also had a good month collecting fines for the month of April, bringing in a total of $18,361. According to Kennell, of that amount the town only gets to keep $3,414, with the rest going to the state and county.

And finally three people were officially named to the Board of Assessment Review. Ed Flaitz and Theresa Pullman are new members, with Ron Lockwood being a reappointment. Their terms are for 5 years.
