Arkport DPW Head Sliter Receives High Praise

ARKPORT, NY – In last evening’s monthly meeting of the Arkport Village Board, Canaseraga water expert Greg Lundergan had tons of praise for the progress of Arkport’s newly appointed DPW head Logan Sliter. Lundergan has been training Sliter on water operations since his hire on October 1st.

 “I can’t say enough good things about Logan,” explained Lundergan, “He has integrity, diligence, consistent, and is very eager to learn. He has been a complete pleasure to train and work with the past 3 months.” Sliter has a bit more schooling and certifications before he is an independent full-fledged water filtration operator.

In other village news, end of the year reports were in for code enforcement and the cemetery. Code enforcement officer Bill Rusby said he had a total of 17 building permits issued for the year bringing in a total of $633 for the village. Cemetery head Tom Hunt had 17 full burials and 7 cremations.

In the Book Center, there were a total of 162 books checked out for the month of December. 45 people visited the book center and 65 children from Lisa’s Daycare visited for Storytime.

Treasurer Patricia Lupo reported that the profit and losses for the month of December. The General Fund income brought in $4,738 and expenses totaled $19,260. Water Fund income was $23,518 and expenses were $34,108, and the Capital Project Fund received $201,765 and $227,982 was paid out.

The next Village Board meeting will be February 19th, 2019. March’s meeting has been changed to the 12th so as to not interfere with elections on the 19th.
