Arkport, NY – Arkport Village Mayor Charlie Flanders told the board last night that because of right of way issues phase one of the water project (the Spring Lots to the Pump House) will now have to be broken into two phases in order for work to begin. Flanders said, “until we figure out how to maneuver the project in phase two, we will only be bidding out phase one, the five or six collection basins.” Dept of Public Works head Bob Mauro added, “Basically the problem is how to stay off private property when boring new lines.”
In other news Mauro noted that the DPW will begin crack sealing the streets next week and residents should be aware of sticky debris temporarily on the roadways.
