ATV Accident in Livingston County

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, NY – Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty is reporting that there was an ATV accident that sent two people to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

According to Sheriff Dougherty, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office 9-1-1 Center received a call from a woman who was in distress and reported that there was an ATV accident. The E-911 Center was able to plot the call to 2448 Genesee St. in the Town of York.

Deputies learned that an ATV was being operated by Edward Lagenfield, 36, from York, and he had his 9 year old nephew riding with him. Lagenfield struck a tree in the yard and both Lagenfield and Bird, Jr. were ejected and injured.

Both were transported to Strong Hospital for treatment and evaluation. Bird Jr. was wearing a DOT approved helmet but Lagenfield was not wearing a helmet.
