Hornell, NY – Benjamin L. McGregor, 45, of 86 North Main Street, passed away Monday (January 27, 2014) at his home surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Hornell, February 11, 1968, the son of Mark and Phyllis Eymer McGregor, he had resided in Hornell all his life. Ben had been employed as a laboror at AAC Contracting in Rochester.

Ben was a member of the Hornell Moose Lodge and was an avid hunter and fisherman as well as a NASCAR enthusiast. For the last 10 years, Ben and his wife Pam volunteered at the NYSFOB(New York State Festival of Baloons) in Dansville.

He was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Chace McGregor of Hornell, 2 daughters, Krystle (Michael) Malm of Hornell and Allexys Townsend of Hornell, 3 sons, Mark McGregor of Hornell, Lucas Towner of Arkport and Joseph Townsend of Hornell, his sisters, Patricia Jackson. Sandra (Bill Grimm) Coogan and Sherry (Terry) Vanduser all of Hornell, the “Apple of his Eye”, his grand daughter Payton Chace of Hornell, his brother-in-law, Michael (Wendy) Chace of Hornell and his Mother-In-Law and Father-in Law, Robert and Mary Gross of Canisteo and Linda and Roy Chace Jr. of Hornell, as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Honoring Ben’s wishes there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday (Feb. 1, 2014) at the Canisteo Wesleyan Church, 25 Greenwood Street, Canisteo at 12 Noon. Rev. Donald Maynard will officiate.
