Canisteo Man Charged With Attempted Murder

CANISTEO, NY – Canisteo Police Chief Kyle Amidon reports that Canisteo Village Police Department along with assistance from the New York State Police and Steuben County Sheriff’s Department arrested Steven Brady Jr., 30, of East Main Street, Canisteo, for Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree and Strangulation in the 2nd Degree. brady
 
“Law Enforcement received a complaint in the early morning of January 13th in the Village of Canisteo of an assault,” said Amidon. “Authorities spoke to the victim which led to an investigation of a domestic incident that took place earlier in the morning at the residence of 39 Chestnut Street in the Village of Canisteo. The victim was transported to Noyes Memorial Hospital for medical treatment and later released. Throughout Investigation authorities were able to identify Brady as the suspect and take him into custody near his residence without incident.”
 
Brady was arraigned in the Canisteo Village Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail to re-appear on Friday, February 12th, 2016 at 8:00am.
