Canisteo Resident Charged By Both Village Police And Sheriffs Dept

On November 26, the Canisteo Police Department issued a statement about how a Canisteo resident, Rebecca Manry-Miller, 40, was facing numerous charges. Today, Sheriff Allard has released a statement, explaining more about the case.

From The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department:

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on November 22, 2019, deputies and investigators of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rebecca L. Manry-Miller, age 40, of Canisteo, New York. Ms. Manry-Miller was arrested following a joint investigation between the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and the Canisteo Village Police Department. A search warrant was executed on 11/22/2019 at a residence in the Village of Canisteo in connection to a fire that occurred in the Village of Bath on July 26, 2019. Items were located that allegedly connected Ms. Manry-Miller to several letters that had been sent to different locations over the past several months to allegedly attempt to conceal crimes that Ms. Manry-Miller had been charged with following the fire. Ms. Manry-Miller was charged with two counts each of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, Falsifying business records in the First Degree, Forgery in the Second Degree, and making terroristic threats. She was also charged with one count of Filing a False report in the Second Degree. Ms. Manry-Miller was held at the Steuben County Jail for CAP Court Arraignment and released.
