CANISTEO, NY – On Monday night at the Canisteo Village meeting, Melissa Day was voted in to remain on as village clerk for another term effective April 6.
Also, Canisteo Police Officer in charge Kyle Amidon, will be promoted to sergeant after fulfilling all the requirements. There will be no pay increase for Amidon and the board was highly complimentary of the job he has been doing.
A part-time police officer was hired to help alleviate duties of the other part time officers. Former Hornell Police Officer Robert Margeson started April 22, on a per diem basis.
Also the board accepted the resignation of code enforcement officer Jim Schieder, which became effective on April 14.
In other news, Empire Video sent a letter to the village stating they have fulfilled all their environmental obligations and are now accepting customers.
