CANISTEO, NY – Newly elected Canisteo village Mayor Monica Recktenwald reappointed current police Chief Kyle Amidon to the head of Canisteo’s PD. In April of 2013 Kyle left the Hornell City Police Department and took over as the Officer in Charge of the Canisteo Village Police Department and was promoted to Sergeant in May of 2015. He currently resides in the City of Hornell with his family.
Also swore in was newly elected Officer Brandon who has recently completed the phase one portion of the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy and is now set for phase two starting April 24th. Upon completion he will begin his full time employment in the department. Mills has deep roots in the community being a Canisteo-Greenwood graduate and he currently resides in Hornell.
