City Appoints New HPG Director

New HPG Head Justin Recktenwald and Supporting Members

HORNELL, NY – The city of Hornell along with the Hornell Partners for Growth Board of Directors have found a replacement for Shelly Stevens as head of that department as Stevens will be stepping down at the end of next week.

Justin Recktenwald, local area businessman and wine entrepreneur was officially appointed to that position Thursday afternoon in front of City Hall. Rectenwald currently owns The Brute Winery on Main Street and also Wild Brute Winery and Vineyard in Arkport.

Stevens will train the new director over the next few months and fill in when necessary to help make a smooth transition.

Michelle Pogue will be taking over as Chairman of the Board as Steve Peck will be stepping down after 10 years in that position.

Rounding out the new board will be Laura Vetter, Sue Lacy, Morine Brought on, Cindy McKibbon, Stephanie Mitchell, Mike Davidson, Jeremy Bittle, Megan Booth O’Brien, Catherine Shults, John Buckley, Jim Griffin, and Michelle Smith.
