HORNELL, NY – The monthly Board of Public Safety meeting was held at the HFD Thursday morning so the Mayor and Commissioners could recognize all who contributed to helping with the massive fire that engulfed Preston Ave last month.
Representatives from all local volunteer fire departments in the valley were on hand to receive a plague and handshake from the Mayor, HPD and HFD Chiefs, and the commissioners. Recognized were Arkport, Canisteo, Freemont, South Hornell, and North Hornell.
Also commended were many officers from the Hornell PD and Sheriff’s Dept. who were immediately on the scene and responsible for saving lives.
