WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Tom Reed was impressed with today’s papal speech in Washington. “I appreciated the Holy Father’s willingness to address Congress and was extremely excited to be part of today’s history,” said Reed. “As a Catholic, I care about the Pope’s unique perspective on the challenges we face as a nation. It’s only fair to listen to his concerns and I’m hopeful we can address our problems as a nation regardless of anything that divides us.”
Reed noted that Pope Francis spoke about climate change, as well as “the refugee crisis in the Middle East and Europe, taking care of those who are less fortunate, creating opportunities for youth and the universal rights of humanity, including the unborn.”
