Dana J. Crittenden, of Greenwood

GREENWOOD: Dana J. Crittenden, 48, of State Route 248, passed away unexpectedly Monday (August 21, 2017) at his home in Greenwood.

Dana was born October 10, 1968 in North Hornell to Karl and Kathleen (Greene) Crittenden, who survive and reside in Greenwood.

He was a graduate of the former Greenwood Central School class of 1986. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving 4 years from 1987-91 and attaining the rank of Sergeant. He served his country proudly during Desert Storm stationed in RAF Lakenheath Air Force Base in England with the 48 TFW Transient Alert, where he was a crew chief for F1-11 fighter jets.

Dana had been employed at the Gunlocke Company in Wayland for 23 years and had achieved the position as a group leader. He enjoyed all kinds of music and loved to play his drums. Dana was also a great sports fan of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills. Formula one racing was a favorite of his favoring the driving team of Michael Schumaker.

In addition to his parents Karl and Kathleen Crittenden of Greenwood, Dana is survived by a brother Dale Crittenden (Becky Compton) of Roanoke, Va., a sister: Sylvia Willis (Dennis Warner) of Greenwood. Special friends, Lisa Ells and her son Declan Ells of Rochester, Eric Wadsworth of Nunda and a very special young lady Jordan Shisler of Wayland, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

At the family’s request, private services will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are in care of the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
