Decrease In Disciplinary Incidents In the Arkport School District

November 13, 2014 –

ARKPORT, NY  – The Arkport Central school held their first data meeting on October 27, for faculty and staff.  Officials say that much of the attention was focused on the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) reports for the month of September and October.

According to the school board, major disciplinary incidents are down substantially from previous years with the 2013-14 school year having almost 30 major incidents while less than 5 were reported for past two months.

School officials noted that although a discipline/documentation system has always been in place and enforced at the Arkport school district, the September and October data proves the point that the faculty and staff have committed themselves to the new P.B.I.S. system.
