CANISTEO, NY – The Wimodaughsian Free Library of Canisteo, which library officials say has been in existence for over 100 years, has an interesting story behind the name “Wimodauhsian.” It’s comprised of the words Wives, Mothers, Daughters and Sisters. At a recent get together at the library, held on August 25, Assemblyman Phil Palmesano recalled the life of an important library supporter, the late Dr. Donald R. Davidsen. Dr. Davidsen, a state assemblyman and local veterinarian.
Also at the event, there were tours of the renovated library space.
