HORNELL, NY – Crosby Street resident, Dr. Steve Shinebarger, announced late on Saturday morning, that he is going to run for 9th Ward Alderman, to replace Alderman John Buckley, as Buckley is running for Mayor.
“I was born and raised here,” Dr. Shinebarger said at a press conference at his Crosby Street home. “I own a business here, I think it’s very important to revitalize the Main Street area.” Shinebarger also said he’d like to see the Canisteo Street Bridge finished, and repave the Crosby Street area, which he described as “being destroyed by snow plows over the years.” Another issue that he’d like to tackle are the problem of zombie properties in the Hornell area. “Hopefully, I’ll be able to take over your position,” Shinebarger said to 9th Ward Alderman John Buckley, who was present for the announcement. Buckley expressed that he has much confidence in Dr. Shinebarger. “Steve is raising his family here, he’s from here, he loves Hornell,” Buckley said. “I can’t think of a better person.”
