Errigo Calls Percoco Verdict A Blow To “Cuomo Crime Family”

March 13, 2018

Albany area media outlets are reporting that Joe Percoco, a former long time close aide of Governor Andrew Cuomo, has been convicted of three federal counts of corruption/bribery. Below is a statement from Assemblyman Joe Errigo, regarding today’s conviction:

Assemblyman Joseph A. Errigo (R, Conesus) weighed in on the guilty verdict of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s former chief aide, Joe Percoco. The disgraced staffer, considered a “third son” by former Gov. Mario Cuomo, was convicted Tuesday on two counts of conspiracy and one count of solicitation of bribes in connection with accepting more than $300,000 in payments from companies with business before the state.

“Today’s verdict is a win against the rampant corruption in this state and a knockout blow to the Cuomo crime family’s way of doing business,” said Errigo. “It’s no secret that for years Gov. Cuomo used the ‘third son’ as his henchman to strong-arm legislators and businesses into doing whatever he needed, and today’s verdict paints that picture clearly. By hook and by crook this administration has worked tirelessly to hide its crimes, and I commend the jury for bringing justice to New Yorkers everywhere.”
