Fatal Accident in West Sparta

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, NY – Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty is releasing information about a fatal accident that happened on Christmas Eve, in the Town of West Sparta. The sheriff says that there was a motor vehicle crash on Mckay Road in the Town of West Sparta, in the 5am hour on December 24th. The caller who phoned 9-1-1 about it, said that there was one car involved and that a person was trapped in the vehicle. “Deputies arrived on scene alongside Fire and EMS,” said Sheriff Dougherty. “The driver of the car, 29 year old Cory Trybushyn of West Sparta, was extricated by Fire and EMS and flown to Strong Memorial Hospital by LifeNet air medical helicopter. Mr. Trybushyn later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.”
