GOP Not Giving Up On Trump
Key Republican leaders from around the state will meeting Wednesday with billionaire Donald Trump and try to persuade him to take on Gov. Cuomo and, if necessary, enter a GOP primary against Rob Astorino, the Westchester County Executive.
Among those attending the meeting with Trump will be the Erie County GOP chairman who along with other chairs upstate believe Trump is their only hope to unseat Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo.
In Albany, the top Republican in the State Senate, Dean Skelos, says he thinks Astorino will be the GOIP nominee. However, conservative Republicans are suspicious of Skelos saying he is much too close with Cuomo.
