Hartsville Clerk Slams Frequent Foilers

November 11, 2015

HARTSVILLE, NY – Town Clerk Kay Miles did not seek re-election and will be done serving as town clerk in Hartsville at the beginning of next year. Miles spoke out on Wednesday night at Hartsville Town Hall, against town residents John and Carol Bowles. Miles says that the two have been making endless freedom of information requests. Miles says the most recent FOIL request is 3,426 pieces of paper, the last three years worth of vouchers, as well as certain bank statements.

John Bowles says the reason the June 29th FOIL request was so large was because for years he tried to get financial documents with limited success.  Bowles also described his experience with Miles as frustrating and said that her statement about the Bowles being “vicious” was rude.
