HORNELL, NY – At Monday night’s Hornell Common Council meeting, Mayor Shawn Hogan spoke about a meeting he had last Thursday with officials from St. James Hospital.   Hogan expressed his dismay that it was only last Friday (February 13) that St. James told him about a website to apply for the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) money, to pay for new ambulances.  “We had a meeting Thursday afternoon, and I said ‘where are we going to get money for new ambulances and training?'”

According to Hogan, the next day (Feb 13th), Hornell City Hall got word about the link to a website, to apply for the DSRIP money. However, the mayor notes that the deadline for getting the 54 page application in, is on Friday, February 20. “That just shows that lack of planning on what’s taking place here,” Hogan told the Hornell Common Council.  “I’m not too happy about it.”

WLEA News emailed t. James Marketing and Communications Director Kate Kreger for a response last night, at 8:45pm.  We have not heard back from the hospital as of yet, as soon as we do, we will post and air their response.
