Hornell Board of Education Re-Elects New leadership

Hornell, NY – The Hornell BOE met for the first time in the 2016-17 school year and elections were a top priority. Current board President Jim McNelis was re-elected to his post as was Kerry Davis for Vice President. Also sworn in were new board members James Marino and Uzma Mehr. The board now consists of seven members instead of the previous five. Superintendent Doug Wyant explained that the biggest reasoning behind expanding the board was to lighten the workload on individuals and form different committees to tackle specific issues.

Superintendent Wyant handed out a list of goals for the districts 2016-17 school years and told the board that opinions or changes should be discussed at the August meeting.
