HORNELL, N.Y. – Yesterday, two employees of Physical Therapy Professionals, P.C. located at 100 Loder Street in Hornell, purchased the existing business and have renamed it Maple City Physical Therapy.

The new owners are Dr. Jeremy Bittel and Dr. Megan O’Brien. have a combined 24 years of experience in the field of physical therapy. The original location opened in February of 2011 and saw great success with both Dr. Bittel and Dr. O’Brien as the original employees under the previous ownership.

“It’s important for patients to realize that no matter what kind of healthcare provider you are seeking out, the ultimate choice is yours,” said Dr. O’Brien, about the options patients have in selecting their own provider. “Patients are sometimes under the impression that they have to visit a certain provider. Hospitals, both locally and in larger areas, do encourage their physician practitioners to refer patients within the hospital system to maximize revenue streams. We try to educate our patients that they always have a choice in their healthcare.”

Maple City Physical Therapy places the patient first in every interaction,” said Dr. Bittel. “Our goal from the patient’s first visit is to get them back to a healthy and independent lifestyle in the least time possible. We strive for nothing less than to see our patients return to the things they love.”

Both Dr. Bittel and Dr. O’Brien are members and actively involved with the New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA) and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Additional staff includes Nathan Hibbard, physical therapist assistant and Angela McCullumn, office manager.
