HORNELL, NY – The Hornell Board of Education met Wednesday night and heard a presentation from Superintendent Doug Wyant about the new school model. The presentation was a result of three district teachers that were sent to Atlanta, Georgia for a conference on teaching and the new model of schools.

The board also heard from second grade teacher from Bryant School, Eric Jones, who was one of the conference attendees. Jones gave a presentation that centered around Cantiague Elementary School located in Jericho New York. Which has begun a new 21st century vision for schools.

Jones talked about implementing some changes in his own classroom and wants to “be the change”. Superintendent Wyant and Jones talked about creating a new culture of learning aided with technology, teaching and preparing students for careers that are not even known at this point with the rapid pace of change in today’s society as technology continues to push and change the world as we know it.
