Hornell School District May Give Tax Breaks To Vets

Hornell School District May Give Veterans Tax Breaks
January 23, 2014

HORNELL, NY – The Hornell City board of education announced last night that they’re looking into the possibility of giving military vets a tax break. School Superintendent Doug Wyant says the State has changed some real property laws allowing veterans of certain wars and military conflicts, to get an exemption from School taxes.

Wyant says he would like to do that, but has to see what the impact of the tax break would be.

Also, the Hornell school district has a propane powered bus that they’re using for a week and a half, to see whether it would be practical for Hornell to use.
