Hornell Voted One of the Top 50 Safest Cities

HORNELL, NY – Hornell Mayor John Buckley received some great news for the city Tuesday afternoon and immediately commended the Hornell Police Dept for the achievement. According to the Mayor, the city was named one of the 50 safest cities in NYS.

The survey, conducted by an organization called Safewise, takes into account all crimes from murder to shoplifting.

Buckley attest this to the great work done by the Hornell PD day in and day out whether its drug interdiction, property crime, or domestic incidence. He also said that the results are a testament to his crackdown on drugs and community policing.

Police Chief Ted Murray thanked Buckley for the recognition and put immediately thank his force for an outstanding job.
