Kenneth E. Isaman, 68, of Arkport, NY, died peacefully at Elderwood Nursing Home on October 2nd, 2017 at 9:25am after a struggle with Lewey Bodies Disease Dementia. Ken is survived, by his wife, Sheryl C. (Chace) Isaman of Arkport, 3 children; Jeffrey E. Isaman & wife Jennifer, 48, of Clemmons, North Carolina, Lori A. Isaman, 46, of Hornell, NY and Stephanie L. Isaman, 40, of Bella Vista, AR and 4 grandchildren, Logan C. Isaman (Lori), Lucas & Ethan Isaman and Alison Mansell (Jeff). He is also survived by a brother, Keith Isaman, 63 of Arkport, NY and his 3 children. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Donald C. Isaman of Arkport, NY and Mary B. Isaman (Johnson) of West Union, NY.
Kenneth was a 1966 graduate of Arkport Central School, 1970 graduate of Alfred University with a Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts. He joined his father at Isaman Chrysler Plymouth from 1966-1976 as a lead Car Salesman and in 1977-1980 operated his own business as Ken Isaman Chrysler Plymouth. In 1981, Ken Isaman Auto Sales opened and Ken has sold cars until present as a hobby. He also worked in the insurance field for many years.
Ken’s biggest passion was local and community service and helping others. He served on the Town Board of Hornellsville for 27 years and was the Town Supervisor for over 10 years. He also served as a Steuben County Legislator for 12 years. His community service was an integral part of his life acting as Rotary President two times for the Hornell Club, receiving the Paul Harris Fellow Award, actively involved for many years with fundraising and helping the Boy Scouts of America, in turn winning the Boy Scout Silver Beaver Award. Other various board positions include Salvation Army, United Way and Five Star Bank.

The Family will be present on Thursday (October 5, 2017) from 12-4PM at the Bender – Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St. Hornell, NY 14843. There will be a reception to honor Kenneth Isaman at the American Legion on Seneca Street in Hornell at 6PM on Thursday (October 5, 2017).
