Injunction On SAFE Act Sought

The Albany Times Union is reporting that a downstate attorney has gone to a federal court seeking an injunction against the Tuesday deadline for a key provision of the SAFE act to take effect.

The lawyer, Robert Reddola, says the SAFE act, which was rammed through the legislature by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, outlaws certain kinds of assault style weapons. It goes into effect April 15th and Reddola believes the law will allow local authorities to go to a home and confiscate shotguns and hunting rifles under some conditions. He says this is a clear violation of the Second Amendment.
