Hornell, NY – Joann Dugo, 75, of 99 Front Street, passed away peacefully Saturday (March 15, 2014) at her home.

Born in Hornell, November 1, 1938, the daughter of Dominic and Harriet (Lorow) Dugo, she was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Hornell High School “Class of 1956”. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish, and a communicant of St Anns Church. Joann’s first job was at the former F.W. Woolworth store in Hornell, then was a quality control inspector for Square[D] in Huntington, Indiana, and later retired from Alstom in Hornell. She was a member of the Hornell Alumni, the Hornell VFW Auxillary #2250, Hornell America Legion Post#440, Hornell Moose Lodge #620. Joann was also a proud member of the Aerospace & Machinist Union # 2413.

She was predeceased by her parents, her son Don Withey in 2001, and an infant sister Elaine Rosemary Dugo.

She is survived by her son David Dugo of Hornell, 2 sisters Shirley Jackett of Hornell, Barbara Ordiway of Hornell, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present 1-3 & 5-7 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the Bender – Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM, with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Arkport Cemetery.
