HORNELL, NY – Hornell Republican Joe McKay sent out the following statement on Friday morning:
I am thrilled to announce that I am seeking another term on the Hornell City Common Council representing the 3rd ward. Representing the citizens of the 3rd ward within our local government has been an overall great experience. I believe that I have been a reliable and resourceful advocate for the 3rd ward. Staying informed and present within the community has been the key to success in public service. While serving on the finance and the Planning & development committees, it is apparent that this is an exciting time for the Maple City. We are seeing a large increase in commercial and residential development which translates to more sustainable growth for Hornell. The City of Hornell is currently on a very strong upswing and that is thanks to the leadership at City Hall as well as the other members of the common council. Even with this favorable trend; there are still challenges present and much work to be done. If elected to continue my service, I will work with the community and the leadership to identify, engage, and overcome all of these challenges for the betterment of the community. It is with great pride that I humbly thank you for your continued support.
