HORNELL-Joyce Y. Leary, 73, of East Ave., passed away Saturday morning (Oct. 31, 2015) at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell.
Born in Rochester on Aug. 1, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marion Turgon. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her son, Michael John Marselle in 2013.
A graduate of Henrietta Central School, Joyce also attended beauty school and was formerly employed as a hairdresser at Antoinette’s in Henrietta.
She has resided in Hornell since 1998 and will be remembered for being a quiet woman, who was a mother and homemaker.
Joyce dearly loved her grandchildren and enjoyed gardening and spending time at home. She also loved animals and in later years she became involved in breeding Monarch butterflies.
Her loving family includes her two children, Jill (Frank) Hoegler of Houston, Tx.; her son, Patrick (Megan) Leary of Hornell; her three grandchildren, Kaylee Vargas, Patrick Christopher Leary and KirraRikki Leary; also her half brother, Bruce Turgon of California.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell is honored to serve the family of Joyce Y. Leary.
To honor her wishes there will be no calling hours or memorial service.
