Local Physician Is Helping The Red Cross Down South

September 8, 2017

Long time area physician, former Steuben County Legislator, Dr. Stoner Horey, is flying down to help out in Orlando, Florida, which is expected to be hit by the hurricane on Sunday. “The Red Cross is flying me,” Horey told Wlea News. Dr. Horey, who is now retired, specialized in geriatric medicine and chronic care, says that Orlando is a guiding center from which Red Cross volunteers will be deployed, and that Orlando has one of the largest shelters in central Florida.

Dr. Horey helped out locally in the Flood of 1972, and in 200, Horey assisted in the south, helping the Veterans Administration, in the aftermath of Hurricanes Rita and Katrina.
