Lockdown At Arkport Central School

May 24, 2018

STEUBEN COUNTY, NY – The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department reports that Arkport Central was in a lockdown this morning.
From the Arkport Central School FB Page:
Arkport Central School was placed on lockdown at approximately 8:30 a.m. today (May 24) after receiving a report from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department about a student possibly having a weapon. All students and staff are safe and unharmed. The lockdown was downgraded to a “hold in place” around 9:30 a.m. That means students will remain confined to classrooms until further notice. New York State Police and sheriff’s deputies are on the scene. We will provide updated information as soon as it’s available.

UPDATE – 11:10am – The Arkport Central FB Page now reports that the “hold in place” was lifted at approximately 10:48am this morning, and that students have resumed their normal class schedules.
