Mary E. Eddy, of Alfred Station

ALFRED STATION-Mary E. Eddy, 88, of Terbury Road, passed away Wednesday (October 8, 2014) at home.

 

Born in Ward, February 10, 1926, the daughter of Earl and Ruth Caward Brown, she had resided all of her life in the Alfred area. Mary loved playing the accordion and the organ. She liked to knit, crochet and working in the garden. Mary also loved her family and working on the family farm.

 

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by one grandchild, Lisa, two great grandchildren, Joseph and Jedrek, two brothers; William and Clarence Brown.

 

She is survived by her husband, Harold who she married in 1946, four sons, John (Marilyn) Eddy of Alfred Station, George (Lynn) Eddy of Belmont, Martin (Kathleen) Eddy of Alfred Station and Bill (Arlene) Eddy of Belmont, five daughters, Sally (Bob) Sayer of Lima, Juanita Shaffer of Wayland, Ruth (Alan) Aultman of Alfred Station, Rose (Paul) Landis of Dundee and Ellen (Larry) Lamphier of Wellsville, 41 grandchildren 57 great grandchildren, one brother, Phillip (Gloria) Brown of Alfred.

The family will be present to receive friends from 6-8Pm on Sunday and Monday 11Am-1PM, at the Bender – Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will follow calling hours on Monday at 1Pm, Rev. Laurie DeMott officiating. Burial will be in Alfred Rural Cemetery.
