Maureen L. (Howe) Fuller, of Arkport

ARKPORT- Maureen L. (Howe) Fuller, age 82, of 11 Brush Street, Arkport, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Maureen passed away peacefully in her home in the presence of her family.

She was born in Hornell on January 30, 1935 to Gaylord and Harriet (Sherner) Howe. On February 11, 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert L. Fuller at the First Presbyterian Church in Arkport, with Rev. Luther Cross officiating. Bob passed away on August 30, 2008. He and Maureen enjoyed 52 years of marriage.

Maureen graduated from Arkport Central School in 1952. She enrolled and graduated from St. James Mercy Hospital School of X-Ray Technology in September of 1954 and became licensed in the State of New York. She was also a member of the American Registry of X-Ray Technicians. Maureen was employed at the former Dansville Memorial Hospital for 17 years. She was then employed from 1974 to 1991 at the radiology office at 20 Elm Street in Hornell for Doctor MacFarland and Doctor Auringer where she specialized in x-ray, radiation therapy, and CT scanning. In 1993, she worked at the office of Doctor Horey until her retirement in 1999.

Maureen was baptized at the First Presbyterian Church in Arkport and chose to become a member at 14 years old. Maureen and Bob were married there, attended there throughout their marriage, and Maureen was an elder in the church.

She enjoyed many hours of flying with Bob after he earned his private pilot’s license and co-owned a Cessna 182. They also enjoyed camping in several states. The spring, summer and fall months were spent with their children, grandchildren, other family members, and friends at their land and pond called “The Hill” in the countryside of Arkport. From 2000 to 2009, Maureen and Bob spent the winter months in Haines City, Florida.

Her family includes her two children, son, Steven R. Fuller, of Fremont, married to Susan Fuller, and her daughter, Robin Greek, of Swain, married to Ed Greek. Her grandchildren, in order of age, are Steven (Amanda) Fuller, Sarah Fuller, Samuel (Sarah) Reger, Anna Reger, and Leah (Chad) Pierce, and step-grandchildren Christopher (Christine) Aumick, Zachary Aumick, Brittany Aumick, Ronald Greek, Shelley Greek, and Tammy Gamble. Maureen was very proud to have seven great-grandchildren, Lilly, Reece, Brooklyn, Lincoln, Xavier, Henry, and Maxon.

Maureen is also survived by her brother, Michael (Jean) Howe of Bloomfield, N.Y.; twin sister, Mitzi McGarrigle of Newfield, N.Y.; sister, Marilyn Hynes of Cohocton, N.Y. as well as her, brothers-in-law, James Fuller of Hantersville, NC and William Pryor of Arkport. Maureen was predeceased by her parents, husband, and brothers-in-law, Richard McGarrigle and Roy Hynes, and sister-in-law, Nancy Pryor.

The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Maureen L. (Howe) Fuller.

Calling hours are 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell, where a funeral service will be held following calling hours at 7 p.m. Friday with Rev. Bruce Incze officiating. Private committal services and interment will be held on Saturday at Heritage Hill Cemetery in Arkport.
