HORNELL, NY – With the big Alstom news from yesterday about the 2.5 billion contract that will soon be signed with Amtrak, Mayor Shawn Hogan is hoping for a bigger downtown. Speaking with WLEA News, Hogan recalled a suggestion he made to Hornell Partners For Growth several years ago. “I said we ought to talk to the business owners or the (downtown) building owners, and we ought to pull it together as HPG and as the community development office, and go seek entrepenuers and give them an incentive, and call it ‘race for the space’.”
