New Attorney General In NYS

May 23, 2018

ALBANY, NY – On Tuesday, the state legislature voted for Inspector General Barbara Underwood to become the State Attorney General, to take the place of Eric Schneiderman. Assemblyman Phil Palmesano was a yes vote: “I’m glad that the people of New York state will be able to choose our next state attorney general for a new term when they go to the polls this November. In the meantime, the office is in good hands. Acting Attorney General Barbara Underwood will continue her work through the end of Eric Schneiderman’s term in January after a near-unanimous vote today in a joint session of the Legislature. The legislative process to ensure she could serve through January was open, transparent and bipartisan. I want to extend her sincere congratulations and the best of luck.
