No Tax Increase For Hornell City Taxpayers

March 19, 2016

HORNELL, NY – Mayor Shawn Hogan says that in this year’s budget, there won’t be a tax increase. And while Hogan is that he is keeping taxes at zero percent, he says that in spite of that, Hornell City Hall still has to over ride the state’s two percent tax cap, because the stores at the Walmart Plaza are not going to be paying a PILOT, that’s payment in lieu of taxes for much longer.

In other Hornell news, there will be a slight increase in the recycling and garbage taxes, but no increase for the water tax in Hornell.
