Nojay: Will Silver Get A Deal and Cooperate?

November 30, 2015

ALBANY, NY – Sheldon Silver, the former Assembly Speaker, was convicted on Monday afternoon, on multiple felony counts of corruption, extortion, and bribery.

Assemblyman Bill Nojay says that they’re after the public officials in Albany, now that former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has been convicted on all counts of corruption. “A lot of the discussion in Albany is, ‘how many other rats are there in the woodpile?’ There’s a lot of people scared, wondering what did they say about Shelly, what does he know that he might be talking about the feds?”

Nojay is also wondering if federal prosecutor Preet Bhrarara will cut a deal with Silver on his sentencing, in exchange for Silver giving up information about other politicians.
