Numerous Resolutions/Appointments Passed at Hornell’s Common Council Meeting

HORNELL, NY – The following resolutions/appointments were made official at Monday night’s monthly common council meeting:

Dave Coddington was officially named Hornell City Court judge after winning the majority vote over Joe Peylch in the November elections. His 4 year term will expire December 31st, 2020.

Christina Loper was re-appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals for another 5 year term running from January 1st, 2017 to December 31st, 2021.
Josephine Ciancaglini was re-appointed to a 3 year term on the City of Hornell’s Library Board of Directors.

John Murawski has resigned his positon as a Commissioner of Hornell Housing Authority with the council appointing Jason Jordan of the Evening Tribune to fill the vacated spot from January 16, 2017 to December 31, 2017.

Also the following transfer of funds was approved; $75,000 was taken from the city’s water cash fund and deposited in the water equipment fund. The city’s general fund redistributed $90,000 to Police Personal Services for the reimbursement of the School Resource Officer and STOP DWI patrol.

The city also made available $498,982 from the general fund to cover initial costs of the Shawmut Park Trail Development (Bike Trail). The majority of this money will be reimbursed once the project is complete with the city only having to pay around $83,000.
