O’Mara Backed By the NYS Firefighters Association

HORNELL, NY – Senator Tom O’Mara attended an endorsement Tuesday afternoon at the Hornell American Legion from the NYS Professional Firefighters Assoc. This is the 2nd year in a row O’Mara has been backed by them.

O’Mara has been very proactive in getting grants for our local fire departments. He has already sealed a grant for $500,000 for Hornell’s new fire truck, and also is announcing today grants for North Hornell and Fremont for new trucks in their districts.

Many attended O’Mara’s endorsement, including Hornell Mayor John Buckley, 132nd District Assembly member Phil Palmesano, HFD’s Union Head Chris Cartella along with many local fireman, and Executive Vice President David Holleran of the Firefighters Association.

O’Mara’s next stop on Tuesday was Fremont to bring the good news on obtaining money for their new trucks. O’Mara is a Republican, representing District 58. He is running in the general election on November 6, after advancing from the primary on September 13. O’Mara is also running in the 2018 election as a Conservative Party, Independence Party, and Reform Party candidate. He was first elected to the chamber in 2010.

His opponent will be Democrat Amanda Kirchgessner from Ithaca NY.
