O’Mara Endorsed By AFL-CIO

September 26, 2016

State Senator Tom O’Mara’s campaign announced this morning that the New York State AFL-CIO has endorsed State Senator Tom O’Mara (R, Big Flats) in his bid for re-election to represent the state’s 58th Senate District. New York State AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento said, “Sen. O’Mara understands the importance of supporting good middle class jobs in the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions and all across the state. His support for the Cornell/NYS AFL-CIO Union Leadership program has helped to provide education and training for future labor leaders so we can continue to create and maintain good jobs. We look forward to educating our members about the good work the senator has done on their behalf and ensuring we get them to the polls to help re-elect Sen. O’Mara.”

O’Mara said, “Greater economic security for middle class workers and their families is absolutely job number one and I’ve always done my best to continue to fight and stand up for a stronger future for the backbone of the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions. I greatly appreciate the confidence expressed by the state AFL-CIO that I stand behind their members and the needs of the middle class for a state government that’s focused on job growth and more effective, responsible actions.”

Officials say that the AFL-CIO has 2.5 million members in New York State.
