Two of Congressman Tom Reed supporters, Donald Strong of Corning and Joseph Ferratella of Corning, filed petition objections against the political petitions of Reed’s tea party opponent, Gary Perry from Waverly and against John Plumb’s political petition. Reed confirmed in his weekly press call, that he knows the two supporters who filed the challenges to the petitions. Congressman Reed says the Republican primary would have been an unnecessary expense on the taxpayers, because there were only a few hundred valid signatures for Gary Perry of Waverly. Reed says he is not as well informed about the objections to the John Plumb petition.
Plumb told the Star Gazette he is confident that the objections to the Plumb petitions won’t stand.
