Possible Funding For Route 36

March 8, 2016

ARKPORT, NY – Department of Transportation representative Bill Piatt met with the Hornellsville town board on Tuesday night, and explained the changes taking place on Route 36. “Route 36 has been upgraded from a secondary arterial to a principal arterial”, Piatt explained. “What this means is more money will be available to the town (Hornellsville) and village (Arkport) through grants and loans that would not be afforded to a secondary arterial.”

After Piatt’s presentation the board passed a resolution fully in support of the new designation.

Also, town supervisor Ken Isaman says that it’s not impossible that more lighting could be put up, on Route 36 from that future funding that the DOT says will eventually be available…
