Protest At Steuben County Jail

July 26, 2017

BATH, NY – Family members of the late Cory Hunt have been protesting outside of the Steuben County Jail in Bath this week. Cory Hunt was the 26 year old Addison man who was hit and killed by a drunk driver named Zane Wilson, in late September of 2014. Officials say that Wilson ran over Hunt, and that Hunt was lying on the road in the early morning hours, and that Hunt had been walking home from Corning to Addison, at the time that he ended up lying in the road. The family of Cory Hunt believes that there was more to it: a family member posted a petition on change.org, saying that Cory was at a party in Corning that night, and that there was a fight, and the family maintains that those who were involved in the fight, left Cory lying in the road in Addison.

Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker tells Wlea News that the three month long investigation showed that there was no evidence of foul play, and that video evidence, medical evidence, reconstruction evidence, eye witness testimony, etc., showed that no one had any connection to this case, except the driver, Zane Wilson, and the victim, Cory Hunt. The state corrections department’s website shows that Zane Wilson has been released from Gowanda Correctional.
