Public Comment is Back – Again – At Hornellsville Town Hall

December 8, 2015

ARKPORT, NY – The Hornellsville Town Board unanimously approved a resolution suggested by board member Jim Giglio, to once again open up meetings to comments from the general public. The board has been hesitant to reopen comments because of the many criticisms that were frequently made during public comment, by Larry Stephens and Frank Libordi.

The town board agreed that starting next month new rules will be in place, such as a five minute limit per person, and the comments will be held during regular session so the minutes will be recorded.
It was also noted that anything currently under litigation will not be discussed, and that issued that have been brought up many times, will not be addressed.

At next month’s meeting newly elected Town Justices Rich Scavo and Eric Buisch will be present to familiarize themselves with board members and also to observe policies and procedures. The board also approved Madeline Seaman as the new clerk to the justices, at $10 per hour.

In other news the board approved the appointment of Stacie Schieder to the Board of Assessment Review for another 5 year term ending September 30, 2020.
