February 24, 2014

CORNING, NY- This afternoon, Democrat congressional candidate Martha Robertson (D, Tompkins County) sent out a statement, demanding that Congressman Tom Reed (R, Corning) release all correspondence about “House Ethics inquiries”.

Robertson will be outside Corning Hospital, on Tuesday, February 25, to push for missing answers. “Robertson wants Reed to release any and all correspondence between his lawyers and the taxpayer-funded Ethics Committee. Voters of the Southern Tier have a right to know the facts,” said Robertson’s campaign manager Jordanna Zeigler.

Reed campaign spokesperson Katherine Pudwill told WLEA News that there is no ongoing House Ethics inquiry.

When our news department contacted the House Ethics Committee and asked if there was an inquiry, into Reed, Tom Rust, interim staff director of the the house ethics committee told us that the ethics committee has no comment. Also, there is no statement about Congressman Tom Reed on the House ethic committee’s website.
